Event Description
Metro Transit is rolling out the regions first Bus Rapid Transit line, ORBT (Omaha Bus Rapid Transit).  Local studies and best practices from other cities have shown implementation of bus rapid transit routes spurs development around the transit stations.  In preparation, the Planning Department, on behalf of the City of Omaha, is reviewing and developing potential policies to ensure we make the most of this significant public infrastructure investment.  The type of development that responds best to a transit station is “Transit Oriented Development” (TOD). During this presentation learn the principles of Transit Oriented Development, the status of and feedback received regarding TOD regulations for the City of Omaha, how you can participate in Omaha’s initiative, and how Omaha’s TOD initiative could make it easier to earn LEED credits. Lunch will be Provided $10 USGBC Members | $20 Non-Members  Not sure about your Individual Member Status? Check here! Not a member? Join USGBC Nebraska Flatwater!
